A salt water colon cleanse is one of the easiest home remedies to clean out your colon. It is also called 'salt water flush'. This is because it completely cleans out, not just your colon, but also the stomach, small intestine as well as the large intestine. In short, it completely cleanses the digestive system. This master cleanse removes all the toxins, accumulated waste matter, feces, parasites and other harmful components in the digestive tract.

While there are various good laxatives medicines, mixes and enemas available in the market, which seem to do the job better, the salt water flush will clean out the entire system and at a fraction of the cost, using simple kitchen ingredients available on hand.

Procedure for Salt Water Flush

The procedure to do a master cleanse, using the salt water flush is quite simple. You need to ready yourself before you do this procedure by skipping a meal. Most people prefer to do this first thing in the morning, on weekends, when they do not have to leave the house or do anything important.

This formulation works like an oral enema. Within 30 minutes to two hours, you will feel the pressure build up in the colon and you might have to defecate several times. If you do not feel the bowel movement, you either need to add more salt to the formulation or drink more water to flush out the system. This cleanse will completely clean the system from top to bottom.

However, it is important to note that this colonic cleanse will clean out the good bacteria as well and thus, once the procedure is over, it is advised that you take probiotic supplement to replace the good bacteria.

It is so easy to take life for granted when you're young. Your biggest problems are getting a sniffle once in a while and wondering if that cute girl sitting next to you will go out with you. Then you hit your mid 40s, end up in emergency and almost die. It really changes your perspective on life. This article is going to briefly share my personal experience with serious illness that I turned into good health without drugs or dangerous surgery.

Let me start off by saying that what worked for me may not work for everybody. For one thing, what I suffered from was specific. Since everybody's problems are different, every solution is different. But I am totally convinced that through nutrition and exercise, you can conquer anything. I am living proof of that.

So just what did I suffer from? The list was endless including severe allergies, chronic constipation, muscle pain, headaches, shortness of breath and a host of other problems. Ultimately, I ended up in emergency one day with severe stomach pain that turned out to be a severely blocked intestine. I almost didn't make it.

The doctors did all kinds of tests on me including abdominal ultrasounds, colonoscopies, blood tests, you name it. Every test came up negative. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me that was causing my problems. Yet, I was down to 117 pounds and was near death. I was never so scared in my whole life.

Well, I had a wife and daughter to take care of so I knew I had to do something. I then thought back to when I was a child and my mother had taken me to a nutritionist in New York by the name of Max Lewitter. I was very sick as a child too and with good nutrition, they brought me back to good health. Unfortunately, I forgot about those days and wandered away from my good eating days. I figured I was indestructible. I wasn't.

So I did some research on my problems. I got as much info as I could. I changed my diet completely. I changed my whole life style for that matter. To make a long story short, after 2 years of research and hard work, I nursed myself back to good health. It is now years since I have been in emergency and have not even had a cold since. I have a great life, my daughter is in her second year of college and my wife doesn't have to worry about losing a husband and a father.

I can't possibly share everything I've learned in a brief article but if you'll visit the site in my signature you might find something that can help you as it has helped me. If you find yoursef feeling SAD as the days grow shorter, you may have Seasonal Affective Disorder (aka Winter Depression). This medical condition is caused by insufficient exposure to sunlight resulting in low levels of melatonin and serotonin, abnormalities of cortisol, carbohydrate craving, weight gain, and sleep disturbance.

SAD usually begins at the end of October when we set our clocks back an hour (Daylight Savings Time). This change in time makes the shorter daylight hours even more apparent which causes us to feel SAD. We are then likely to continually feel SADder as the season progresses. Some of the many symptoms of SAD include: (1.) Change in sleep patterns. (2.) Oversleeping but not awaking feeling refreshed. (3.) Inability to get out of bed. (4.) The need for afternoon naps. (5.) Depression which includes feelings of despair, misery, guilt, anxiety, hopelessness, etc. (6.) Normal tasks become frustratingly difficult. (7.) Withdrawal from friends and family. (8.) Avoiding company. (9.) Crankiness or irritability. (10.) Lack of feeling/emotion. (11.) A constant state of sadness. (11.) Lethargy or decreased energy, making everything an effort and thus resulting in decreased productivity. (12.) Physical ailments, including: joint pain, stomach problems, lowered resistance to infection, weight gain, premenstrual syndrome (worsens or only occurs in winter) (13.) Behavioral problems (14.) Changes in appetite, including: increased appetite and carbohydrate craving (15.) A loss of interest in sex (16.) Difficulty concentrating resulting in unaccomplished tasks

If you feel that you have SAD, you should know that you're not alone! SAD affects approximately 10 million people in the United States alone. Women are three times more likely than men to suffer from this disorder. People who live in colder climates also have a higher incidence of SAD. So, should you happen to believe that you're suffering from SAD, you should first check with your doctor, but do know that there are some treatments available. These include: (1.) Eating a low fat diet, without too much protein. (2.) Taking a daily vitamin that contains magnesium, B complex, and minerals. (3.) Eliminating caffeine. (4.) Reducing stress. (5.) Eliminating refined sugars and flours. (6.) Taking part in aerobic exercise (ie walking). (7.) Taking Saint John's Wort. (8.) Spending 30 minutes per day in the sun and fresh air.
